<p><span style="font-size: large;">Welcome to the third "WINNER IS THE JUDGE!"</span></p> <p> </p> <p>To start off I would like to appologize for getting this up so late. I've had a lot on my plate on top of being sick. But enough chit-chat. Let's get on with the competition.</p> <p><span style="font-size: larger; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63); font-family: Arial;">This is how it works:</span></p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> I will post a theme, and you create a card along those lines. At the end of the week I will choose a winner from among the entries, and that person will create the fourth installment of Winner is the Judge. That person will post a new theme next Monday for all of us here at MTG:Deckbuilder to try and create a card for.</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"><span style="font-size: larger;">This weeks theme will be... The clock is TICKING!</span></p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">I decided to go with a theme that could be interpreted in many different ways.</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">Example:</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">Llanowar Explosives {1GB} Rare</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">Artifact</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">T: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool and remove a charge counter from ~. Then if ~ has no charge counters on it each player sacrifices three permanents, loses three life, and discards three cards.</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">"Few had ever seen the elves' dark side and lived to tell the tale."</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> <span style="font-size: larger;">Rules and regulations:</span> **May change depending on current Judge**</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> One Entry Per Person! Hopefully this will cause people to work extra hard on designing a great card, after all if you only get one shot, you better make it count right?</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> Also, if you submit a card, you must be willing to win, that means copy/paste this blog and/or redesign it, and come up with a new theme, to be posted next monday.</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"><span style="font-size: larger;">What i will be looking at while judging:</span></p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">Balance: A card should not be over powered, or useless, maybe it is a Jack-of-Trades utility card, or maybe it fits a niche deck perfectly(but not brokenly). Leaning too far in either direction on the power scale will lose you points.</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">Creativity: A card should be interesting to play, or have a unique effect on the game. If your card is boring, you will lose points.</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">Flavor: How well the card fits into the MTG universe, as well as flavortext, name, and other "Fluff". You will not lose points for not having a flavorful card, but you will earn bonus points if it is extra flavorful.</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">Form: Try and word your card as closely to what WotC would have done if they were making the card. That is, try and make the wording as simple and concise as possible. If your cards text reads like the reminder text of Banding, you will lose points.</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">Weekly Winners:</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">Week #1</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">Trusted Advisor</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">(2)(U/B)</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">Creature - Human Wizard</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">0/3</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">At the beginning of each upkeep, each player draws a card; then if a player has 8 or more cards in hand, flip Trusted Advisor.</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">_________________________________________</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">Evil Vizier</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">Creature - Demon Wizard</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">4/3</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);">Week #2</p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"><span style="background-color: rgb(2, 24, 0);">Juki, Xi's Assassin {1BU} Rare</span></p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"> </p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"><span style="background-color: rgb(2, 24, 0);">Legendary Creature - Rat Ninja</span></p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"><span style="background-color: rgb(2, 24, 0);">Hexproof</span></p> <p style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(50, 59, 63);"><br /> <span style="font-family: Arial; background-color: rgb(2, 24, 0);">1B: Prevent all combat damage that ~ would deal this turn.
